THE TOOLBAR

Along the top of the screen below the menu bar is the Toolbar. This provides a quicker way to perform a number of tasks that can also be done using the menus, plus a couple of extra tasks. Following is a list of the buttons and their functions (note that Zoom in and Zoom out have different meanings when you have selected a region with the mouse):

New grid Open an equation list (same as File, New).
Open Open an equation list (same as File, Open).
Save Save an equation list (same as File, Save).
Print Print the current graphs (same as File, Print).
Copy graphs Copy grid to clipboard in last format selected from Edit menu. (defaults to EMF monochrome) (defaults to monochrome)
Graph Draws an equation you typed in or redraws the currently selected equation. Equivalent to pressing Enter.
Pause Activated only when you are drawing a graph. Clicking this button (or pressing enter or escape) pauses the current graph. When you are pausing, the Graph button becomes ABORT. Click it to quit graphing or Pause again to restart.

Clear screen Clears the graphing screen. Same as selecting Clear Screen from the View menu.
Hide graph Same as selecting Hide graph from the Edit menu. Hides the graph of the selected equation (but does not remove it from the queue).
Delete graph Same as selecting Delete Graph from the Edit menu. Deletes the currently selected equation from the queue and the screen.
Zoom in Same as Zoom In on the View menu.
Zoom out Same as Zoom Out on the View menu.
Default grid Sets the grid back to the default specified in your graphmat.ini file, or if you don't have one, "the factory-set" default. This is useful if you have selected a weird range that is really large or small, not centered, or not squared and you want to quickly resize the grid to reasonable proportions.
Coord cursor Turns on the coordinate cursor, which allows you to use the arrow keys to move the crosshairs and find the numerical coordinate of any point on a graph using the mouse.
Find derivative
Draw tangent
Integrate

Same as the Calculus menu items
Point Tables
Data Plot Editor
Same as the View menu items

Customizing the toolbar

You have a choice of three button sizes to trade off between button visibility and screen space used by the toolbar: small (16x16 pixels), medium (24x24 pixels), and large (32x32 pixels). The default size is medium unless your initial window size is not big enough to accommodate all of the buttons. To change the icon size, right-click on the background of the toolbar (either to the right of or just below all of the buttons) and choose your preferred size from the context menu.

You can also enable or disable text captions for the toolbar by right-clicking on the background and choosing Show Text from the context menu.

You can customize the appearance of the toolbar (or hide it entirely) by right-clicking anywhere on the toolbar or title bar of the window and choosing from among the following options in the context menu:

Icon and Textshows both icons and text captions for the buttons
Icon Only(the default) shows only icons for the buttons
Text Onlyshows only text captions for the buttons
Hide Toolbarhides the toolbar entirely. You can get it back by right-clicking on the title bar of the window and choosing one of the above options
Text Onlyshows only text captions for the buttons
Use Small Sizeswitches between small (24x24 pixel) and large (32x32 pixel) icons
Customize...brings up the standard system dialog box that allows you to rearrange or remove buttons on the toolbar to suit your needs.

Note that apart from the Hide Toolbar option, all of the customizations above will apply to all open graph document windows.
