ZOOMING IN AND OUT

The Zoom In and Zoom Out commands provide a convenient way to focus on a portion of or show more than is visible in the current grid range. You can invoke both of them from the View menu, toolbar buttons, or from the popup menu that appears when you right-click on the background of the grid.

Both commands have different interpretations depending on whether you have already selected a region on the grid with the mouse. (See Selecting a Range with the Mouse for details.)

Zoom In

  1. If you have selected an area with the mouse, zooms in to make this region the new range.
  2. If no area is selected, zooms in on the center of the current grid using the default scale factor. (When you start Graphmatica, the default scale factor is 2.)

Zoom Out

  1. If you have selected an area with the mouse, center the grid on that region and zoom out by the default scale factor.
  2. If no area is selected, zooms out on the current grid using the default scale factor. Similar to Zoom in above.

Zooming using the mouse wheel

You can zoom in and out around the center of the grid using the mouse wheel by holding the Control key down while you move the wheel up to zoom in or down to zoom out. You can zoom in and out around the center of the grid using the mouse wheel by holding the Command key down while you move the wheel up to zoom in or down to zoom out. In addition, on MacBooks equipped with the "magic trackpad", you can use the pinch zoom gesture while the cursor is over the grid to zoom in or out.

Hold the alt/optionAlt key while rotating the scroll wheel to zoom in or out focused on the point under the crosshairs.
